It's the only facility in South Carolina to host a major professional tournament, the 1977 LPGA Championship. The PGA has twice used these outstanding courses for the final stage of Tour qualifying. Craig Stadler, Calvin Peete, and Bruce Lietzke are just three PGA Tour stars who earned their playing card at Bay Tree.
Renowned golf course architect George Fazio designed all three of Bay Tree's courses. Recently selected by Golf Digest as one of the top ten golf architects of the 20th Century, Mr. Fazio was especially proud of the large undulating greens he created at Bay Tree.
